On August 31, 2025, at Mile 16, Bolifamba, Buea, Milestone Foundation, in partnership with the Local Community Development Association (LCDA), carried out a Back-to-School outreach program aimed at enabling over 30 children to access quality education for the 2025/2026 academic year. Each child received school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, and sharpeners. The event took place at the premises of the United Pentecostal Church.

Opening the ceremony, Rev. Julius Titatah of the United Pentecostal Church thanked Milestone Foundation and LCDA for their generosity and prayed that the donated items would go a long way in enabling the beneficiaries to access education. According to Mrs. Barbara Achingale, president of Milestone Foundation, these learning materials are intended to ease the burden of providing essential school needs for vulnerable families and to ensure that the children have access to quality education like their peers in other regions. In his remarks, Mr. Valentine Mbawka urged parents not to relent in providing positive parenting at home, as it will significantly improve the overall performance of their children.

The parents of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture. Speaking to Milestone Foundation, one of the parents, Ms. Jacenta Mbuchu, stated that as a buyam-sellam, it is very difficult for her to provide for her kids, especially during school reopening. She lamented that conditions have worsened with the continuous rise in prices. Thus, she expressed her gratitude, stating that this back-to-school program has enabled her kids to receive essential school items, which they have not been privileged to have for the past few years.

It is worth noting that this outreach program serves as a testament to the impact of strategic partnerships in tackling educational disparities. By offering both tangible support and encouragement, Milestone Foundation and the Local Community Development Association have not only alleviated the burdens faced by struggling families but have also reignited hope in a generation eager to learn.
